Family Future

Posted on Thu Oct 29, 2020 @ 3:52pm by Major Kasia S'er'in'e & Lieutenant Colonel S'er'in'e

Mission: The Nanjing
Location: Quarters

S'er'in'e sat with his back to the door, gazing out to the stars as he pondered the life that was before him. From what seemed like an age ago when he was young and eager, always on the go to now being older and wiser. He'd found a Mate, a capable woman and fierce warrior, talented leader and also elevated to the position of Wife. Getting married in Human standards was different but not new, he'd witnessed such an event but never taken part in one till his own.

He had informed the Overseer of his Caste and as expected she was none to pleased about the development, his parents however were overjoyed. Kasia had been taking the medication given to her for a little while now and already he'd noticed subtle changes in her, her hair growing more quickly, seemed more energetic, her body firmed. He knew there were downsides to taking the medication but they were in this moment together, for the family they wanted.

Secretly there was some unease about the idea of intimacy, there was no hiding what he was and Kasia saw herself the raw power of his bite, that which he'd have to do to her shoulder. Control was key, while he needed to hear her scream he had to keep control and not do too much damage. When he thought about it the very fibre of his being told him that harming a female was wrong, it went against everything that culture and tradition taught him but this one time was different, the only time, it was permitted.

He sat thinking of names, he thought of the homeworld, his parents. He wondered what the offspring would look like, would they be more feline in appearance or Human? He wondered how beautiful Kasia would look while pregnant and even then the glare that he might get as all males did, even Caitian, from the female of 'Look what you did to me!'

The large bag, an oversized human beanbag in essence was made with two in mind should Kasia wish to join him. He found it comfortable as it molded to him instead of a sofa or chair which was not as forgiving but the bag even now afforded him a comfort for him to think about the future.

Kasia stirred around in bed and brought her hands up to rub her tired eyes. When had she fallen asleep? More important, how long had she been asleep? A glance over at the chronometer answered that for her. Two hours. That didn't seem so bad, and the former Marine XO had a feeling it had something to do with the medication she'd been taking that would help her and S'er'in'e begin their family.

She pushed herself up to a sitting position and ran her hands through her hair. It still amazed her how much it had grown in such a short time and found it to be one of her current favorite features about herself. That wasn't the only side effect, though. There were others, ones that she was one hundred percent positive she wouldn't discuss with anyone that wasn't her husband or doctor.

After taking a few minutes to gather her bearings, Kasia was on her feet and heading to make use of the facilities. Once her face was washed, and her teeth brushed, the former Major made her way into the living room. It didn't take long for her to spot S'er'in'e settled in his oversized beanbag-like chair. A smile formed on her lips as she closed the distance between them, taking a second to crawl onto his lap and press a kiss to his cheek. "You look deep in thought."

"My Wife." S'er'in'e spoke as he wrapped his arms around Kasia. A slow rolling purr erupted as he hugged her, holding her close as her weight settled within his lap. "I was thinking about the future, our family, offspring, my Caste." He answered as he took in the visage of his Wife. "Did you sleep well?"

Kasia smiled as she settled herself against him, finding comfort in his purr. "I did," she replied. "But, I think you should have woken me up. That being said, did you come up with anything regarding any of those things?"

"I now come to understand why potential parents encounter such difficulty in naming offspring." S'er'in'e spoke. "It has been a challenge." He paused for a moment as he held her. "I was thinking about later in life in the days of our retirement and where we would settle, trips to our respective Homeworlds in the years to come. I was wondering which the features our offspring would take, my features but your hair colour, more Human but white hair."

A smile formed on her face, but slowly faced when he mentioned a trip to their Homeworlds. He'd be accepted on Earth with open arms just like most everyone else was, but the Russian woman had a very strong feeling that wouldn't be the case for her on his. She was human, and there were those who didn't appreciate that fact. And now that they were married in her culture, it would likely make matters even worse. Thankfully, he couldn't see her face, or the worry that was there. How would they react to children? "We'll be able to start trying soon enough," she said softly. "Then we'll be one step closer to knowing all of that."

"May I ask how the medication has been treating you?" S'er'in'e asked. While he had noticed changes in her, both in physical and appetite he was acutely aware given the Doctors explanation of things that there could be other changes that Kasia would have to deal with. Her hair was one change he was particularly fond of, it was longer, at times when he'd looked upon her he pictured her sitting in a chair or the sofa with a child wrapped up in it as it slept.

"It's treating me well. I'm hungry all the time, though, which means spending some extra time in the gym to make up for everything I've been eating lately," she answered him. "And, it makes me a little tired, but it's all for a good cause."

"Would you like me to make you something to eat?" S'er'in'e offered hearing that she was hungry all the time and wondering if after her nap, she was so.

Kasia smiled and nodded. "Yes, please, but I find that I'm not quite ready to move from where I am just yet. Unless, you want me to." His lap was quite comfortable for curling up on just as she was doing at the present moment.

S'er'in'e was more than happy to have his Mate stay where she was. Her frame comfortable against his. He held her as if she was the most precious thing in his life, his large arms around her, his tail draped over her thighs, his head next to and slightly above hers. "Not yet." He replied with an unseen smile, this was nice, pleasant, comforting being surrounded with her scent this closely.

"I'm glad you agree with me," she said with a brighter smile and snuggled back against him a bit more. "How has your day been so far? Anything exciting going on down in Marine country?"

"It has been fine, Lt Aravan has stepped up well in your stead. The transition has been smooth though I suspect your beauty is missed, even by some of the more seasoned of officers and new." S'er'in'e responded knowing that even he missed seeing her during duties.

Kasia angled her head so she could look up at him. "I doubt seriously any of them miss me, but I'm glad that Aravan is settling in well. I had a feeling that he would, though, which is why I recommended him."

"I miss you." Which was true. Kasia was hard to miss with her striking blonde hair as she moved about the marine floor and often he'd watched her feeling lucky and prideful that they were together. Fate decided to throw a spanner in the works of this moment together shared by a low rumble, hunger made its presence known for S'er'in'e. "Shall we eat?" He asked trying to salvage the moment.

"Yes," she replied as she rolled off of his lap and got to her feet. "What do you feel like eating?"

"Something...meat. I do not wish the Doctor to think I live on fish and I am due my content of meat." S'er'in'e didn't like eating meat around others much because it presented a setting of him falling into the stereotype that people bestow upon him for what he is. The size of portions was always a delicate balance as his were huge in comparison to Kasia's which meant he had to bear that in mind when cooking for the pair of them.

He also had read several guides on Human pregnancy and many things stuck out as important, most of all, pregnancy was not a disability. He was confused at first as to what this meant, the carrying of life being viewed as such but he was sure to clear up any confusion lest he make the mistake with his Wife. S'er'in'e rose to his feet after he was clear to move from her standing, the odd crack of joint from being seated so long.

"Then let's go get something... meat," she said with a grin and made her way toward the door. The best place to get exactly what they wanted was The Black Hole, and it helped she loved the food.
