Mission: On Slippery Ground
Location: USS Apollo
Timeline: MD 1 || 1400 Hours

Kasia and crew materialized in a corridor outside of the bridge. Alarms started to sound immediately and Gage and the three Marines fanned out to the nearest alcoves for cover in leapfrog formation to cover each other, their weapons up and ready.

The Major took the lead, ducking into an alcove. She wasn't willing to put her people in a position that she wasn't willing to be in herself. Now, Kasia knew the proverbial shit was about to hit the fan, however, she was armed and ready to fire without killing anyone. That wasn't their objective. Stun was the name of the game this go around as not everyone on board were enemies.

A bulkhead began to come down and one of the Marines quickly ran forward and attached a device to the panel on the wall, then gave it a turn. The bulkhead stopped where it was, but didn't go back in place.

"That would be General Quarters Four," Gage said as he grabbed a flash bang grenade off his web belt, prepared it, then tossed it through the half open doorway. "Clear!"

Thankfully, there wasn't anyone nearby when Gage threw the grenade, however, if they didn't know their exact location before, Kasia had a feeling they did now. "Aravan! Stealth!" she hissed, reaching into a pocket on her belt and removing the exographic targeting sensor that was inside to scan the area visually. The Russian woman didn't want anyone sneaking up on them. "You four put yours on, too. No surprises."

She grabbed her tricorder and powered the device on, then began to scan the area. They needed a way out, and if one didn't need to be made, that was even better. After all, the Apollo had likely been hijacked, but it was still Starfleet property, and Kasia wanted to do as little damage as possible.

Gage and the others put their targeting sensors on and he gave her an apologetic look. "Sorry, Major. Policy of breaching called for it and the intruder alarms already let them know we're here." He hefted his heavy phaser rifle and advanced forward cautiously as he scanned the area.

The tricorder beeped as it revealed the corridor ran another five meters with three rooms off of it. Two were on the left and one was on the right, with a turbolift at the end of it.

"Aravan! Pull back!" his superior snapped. Kasia wanted them all to come out of this in one piece, but that wasn't going to happen if he kept doing things the way he was. "I have the tricorder. I'll take the lead." Without waiting for any kind of response, she moved forward, stopping at the nearest room to scan it.

"Aye, Major." Gage immediately dropped back, but was curious why he wasn't assigned point as always. Then again, maybe she was bucking for a promotion, he mused before he fell into step with the others who covered the rear guard and checked the sides.

The nearest room appeared to be an equipment room of some kind with several consoles, but wasn't occupied.

The Major held her hand up for the others to stop and moved to scan the other two rooms.

Of the remaining two doors, one appeared to be empty except for a small desk and console, and the other appeared to be a larger office with a desk, chairs, a console and several PADDs laying on top of it.

Kasia looked to the others. "We have a choice to make here. We go through here," She pointed to the smaller office. "And see what we can find out. Or, we go through here," This time, her hand gestured to the larger room. "And get to the bridge. Suggestions?" Of course, she knew what she wanted to do, but wanted the others to weigh in on things.

"I say we go through the big one and to the bridge," Gage said and ther others nodded their agreement.

"That's why I always choose you all to be on my team," she said, readying her weapon. "They're not going to make this easy one us, so be ready for anything. Everyone goes home alive. There are no other options. Move back a safe distance, just to be safe." And when they were, Kasia pulled the panel and reached for the manual lever to open the door.

When the door popped open an alarm sounded and then the sound of running footsteps came from the opposite direction. At the same time, the rear guard Marine called out a warning as he opened up on the opposing force while diving for cover.

Kasia dove for an alcove across from the open door. It didn't make sense to go inside while her four Marines were outside battling those who likely wanted to kill them, and no one was being left behind. She quickly peeked at what they were dealing with and leveled her phaser rifle as she made a mental note of where her people were, then began to open fire, aiming as best she could when there was enough of a break in the not so friendly fire.

Gage's voice came over her ear com perfectly clear. "Permission to drop some fire on the hole, Major?" he asked, meaning a grenade.

The Major was torn. She didn't want to kill anyone, not when there were so many questions that needed answers. "Masks on. Throw the Anesthezine grenades. Flood the corridor," she ordered, putting her own mask on. Chances were the opposing side wouldn't be prepared for that surprise.

"Roger," Gage said as they all put their masks on and gave the order to the others as he prepped a Anesthezine grenade along with the other three Marines and four grenades soared down the hall .

The sound of four pops and a hissing sound was heard, followed by coughing and bodies hitting the floor.

Kasia knew it would only be a matter of time before more people came to greet them, and while the gas allowed them a little time, it would dissipate. If she calculated right, they'd have roughly fifteen minutes. Was that enough time? Probably not, but she sure as hell hoped so. "We need to move," she told the others. "The gas is only going to cover us for so long. When we get to the door leading to the bridge, Juarez, you hit the manual lever to get the it open. The rest of us will have Anesthezine grenades ready to launch inside. Various locations. Anyone have any objections or other ideas?" She really didn't want to permanently damage anyone, or worse, as the Major had no idea who was friend or foe.

"No objections, Major," Gage responded as the intruder alert continued to sound. Juarez gave a nod and checked her tricorder while the others grabbed their last Anesthezine grenades.

Kasia made her way into the ready room with her weapon aimed ahead of her, checking everywhere for anyone that might wish to surprise them. Seeing no one, she made her way to the door and pulled two grenades from her belt, nearly ready to toss them. "Pull," she ordered. Soon, eight grenades would be making their way onto the bridge where they would hopefully render those just outside the door unconscious.

Juarez quickly removed the access hatch covered, reached in and yanked the emergency release. The door hesitated, then began to open slowly as the female Marine pulled back on it.

Not what she wanted. There was too much time to alert those on the bridge that they were coming, but, they also wouldn't be expecting the gas, either. When there was enough space, and it only took a little, Kasia detonated her two grenades and threw them in opposite directions on the far sides of the bridge, hoping the remaining six would follow.

As soon as the door opened and she lobbed the grenades, disruptor fire splashed against the edges of the door and one lucky shot caught a young Marine in the chest. The green glow of the energy weapon at at his chest and expanded until there was nothing left of him.

Gage gave a battle roar and started laying down heavy stun phaser fire without active targets as the other remaining Marines tossed their sleep grenades as well.

If there was an emotion greater than anger, the Russian woman was feeling it. Her vision bled red and adrenaline kicked in. "Open the fucking door!" she ordered in a voice she barely recognized as her own. This wasn't what she wanted to do, but they'd just killed one of her own. Now, it was time to play the game they initiated. After all, rules of engagement had been followed up until the point on of her men just... ceased to be.

Kasia raised her weapon, still standing off to the side, but now she meant business. There wouldn't be any prisoners, save for those who dropped back in the corridor. In a fit of pure rage, she leveled her phaser rifle, thumbed the setting to a higher level and fired repeatedly in the very direction the killing shot had come from.

Shouts, grunts and the sound of bodies hitting the floor were heard as the other Marines grabbed the door and forced it open, then added their own heavy stun fire. The four Orions on the bridge had dove for cover, but it was quickly blasted and three of them went down.

The fourth, a slender male had thrown down his weapon and shouted "Don't shoot! Don't shoot!" as he crouched behind the weapons console at the back of the bridge.

No longer was she playing games. The Major leveled her phaser on the console he was crouched behind and held her finger a hair away from the trigger. "You and anyone else on this bridge have ten seconds to come out in the open unarmed and hands where we can see them, or we fire," she snapped. "There are no other options."

The male Orion stood up nervously with his hands in the air. "It..it's just me," he stammered. "The o-others are d-d-dead."

"Where are the crew?" she demanded.

"C-cargo bay o-one."

Kasia observed the man as she stepped onto the bridge, her weapon still leveled on him, only now she switched the setting back to heavy stun. She took note that a couple consoles were no longer useable as they'd been on the wrong end of her rifle, but that wasn't something she could worry about right now. "And the bridge crew? Are they in the cargo bay, too?" she asked, coming behind him and grabbing his wrists to flex cuff them behind his back.

"I t-t-told you," the Orion said as she bound his hands. "They're in the c-c-cargo bay!"

"Secure the bridge," the Russian woman ordered. They were down by one, and it was willpower alone that kept her from killing the last intruder on the spot. "What is your purpose for being here? For putting the crew in the cargo bay? For killing one of my own?" And there was the rage again, building up to a boil.

At that point, the Orion decided he had had enough. "I don't have to answer to you. I hereby surrender myself to Starfleet and request all the creature comforts your weak species is known for offering."

Kasia smiled a slow smile. A predators smile. One that definitely didn't reach her eyes and was just downright creepy. "Oh, you have no choice but to surrender seeing as you've already been caught," she said, leaning closer to his ear. "As for creature comforts... I'm afraid that won't be happening. A Starfleet Marine was killed here today, and while you may not be directly responsible for issuing the killing shot, you are responsible nonetheless."

She stood upright again. "I'm going into the corridor to secure those prisoners. Keep an eye on our friend. No one should attempt to get on the bridge, but if they do, and they aren't Starfleet... stun them," she ordered before moving back into the ready room. Kasia tapped her combadge. "Petrova to Triumphant. We've secured the Apollo's bridge."

=^=Good work, Major. Now for the rest of the ship. We're on the way at maximum range for weapons.=^= came the Commodore's static filled response.

"Yes, Major," Gage said a she kept his phaser rifle on the Orion.

Kasia made her way back out to the corridor where the gas had done its work and began to use flex cuffs on them, then gathered up their weapons. It didn't take long for her to call Gage and the others to bring their prisoner from the bridge and help round up the unconscious ones before they were heading back to the Victorious after the bridge crew, the real bridge crew, arrived.

Her head was still in a pretty dark place, and sadly, she didn't know how long it would be before she was back to her normal self again.
