"No, not again." Robert said, looking at his friend William. "We were lucky to be given shore leave. I am not messing it up with more jokes, even if they are hilarious."
"The jerk deserved it." Bill replied. Bob sighed.
"No question. But we're here on Pacifica, beautiful sun and I want to take the chance to get some sun." Bob said. Bill smiled, and slapped his friend on the back.
"And some babes and booze. It's shore leave; let's make the most of it." Bill said, looking around. They had settled into their rooms, and were now at a bar. Bob couldn't help but smile as the two of them went over to the bar.
"Now remember," Bob said, as they ordered a couple of beers. "We play this nice and cool." He said. They accepted their drinks, and made their way to the end of the bar.
"Alright, you're the one who knows what to do." Bill said. "How about giving me a rundown?"
"Alright." Bob replied, smiling, leaning on the bar. It was an old fashioned bar, with a wooden surface, and it looked perfect in the bar. It had a certain charm that Bob liked. "The first thing you need to do is play it cool."
"Cool?" Bill asked. Bob smiled, and nodded as he took a sip of his drink, still leaning on the bar.
"You see, these days women like men who've made it far in life, the mature and modern men." Bob said.
"Oh, is that why we're not having any luck?" Bill asked. Bob glared at him as he stood up straight.
"I haven't tried yet. Gotta build up and get ready for the first move." Bob replied. Bill smiled as he saw the barman lift up the hatch and walk past them, something Bob didn't notice since he was busy looking at ladies at tables.
"Might wanna hurry up then." Bill replied.
"You can't rush genius." Bob replied. He nodded over towards a table, and smiled as he saw two ladies on their own. "Well now, we might be onto a winner." Bob said, as the woman smiled back at them. "Remember," He said, as he went to lean back on the bar. "Play it nice and cool bro, nice and cool." He finished. Before Bill could warn him, Bob went to lean onto the bar...but the hatch was still up and he fell through the non existent hatch and straight down to the ground.
"Nice and cool, huh?" Bill asked, as Bob quickly stood up.
"Drink up, let's find another bar." Bob replied. "Come on."

Bill watched as Bob spoke to one of two women at the next bar, and smiled as a woman approached him. "All alone?" The woman asked.
"Well, I was with Mr. Smooth there, but he seems preoccupied." Bill replied. "I'm William."
"Jenni. You on shore leave or on holiday?" The woman asked. Bill smiled again.
"Shore leave. We just finished a dangerous mission." William replied.
"Dangerous, huh?" Jenni asked. William nodded.
"I can't talk too much about it, being in charge of security and all, but I had to save the day as usual. The guys on my ship need to be protected, and it may be dangerous, but I'm used to it baby." William said, winking at Jenni. She smiled and placed a hand on his muscles.
"You must be very brave, protecting the entire ship." Jenni said. "How about I buy a hero a drink?"
"No, please, let me buy you one. A gentleman does the buying after all." William said, as he turned and nodded to the bartender. "Another round for the lady."
"You got it." The bartender said. Bill handed the barman a credit note, and was given a drink. Bill handed it to Jenni, and smiled.
"Kind and brave. You really must be a hero." Jenni said.
"Oh, we Starfleet Officers aren't heroes, we just do what needs to be done. How about we find somewhere quiet and I tell you more?" Bill said. Jenni smiled, and led Bill away from the bar.

Bob, meanwhile, was busy talking to the woman he had met, Elizabeth, who was also on the Triumphant. "Honestly, I know you got in trouble for it, but that was a legendary prank." She said, taking a sip of her drink.
"Admittedly I didn't expect it to go as far as it did, but it was definitely fun." Bob replied.
"And you really snickered in front of Valdez?" Elizabeth asked.
"Couldn't help ourselves." Bob replied, remembering the way he described the joke.
"Your friend's leaving." Elizabeth said. Bob turned and saw Bill leaving the bar with a woman.
"Wait, he got a woman? That never happens." Bob said. He shrugged. "I guess even a blind monkey finds a nut occasionally."
"I've heard that before." Elizabeth said. "Come on, let's grab some food and we'll talk more about your pranks."

Hours had passed, and Bob laughed softly as Elizabeth finished her story. "Seriously? You were butt naked?" Bob asked. Elizabeth groaned.
"I knew I'd regret telling you that story." Elizabeth said. "My husband won't stop reminding me of it."
"Yeah, I might do the same in his place. You hoping he'll be able to transfer to the Triumphant?" Bob asked.
"We've asked for a while, and we're hoping for the best. Trouble is, there isn't really any space for someone of his role." Elizabeth said. Bob nodded.
"That's the trouble with Starfleet." Bob said. "It's difficult to get posted on the same ship. Lots of ships and lots of bases."
"Still, it's worth it, being out here." Elizabeth said, as a woman approached them.
"Excuse me, are you Robert Scott?" The woman asked. Bob nodded.
"Can I help you?" He asked.
"Your friend, William, asked me to ask you to meet him round the corner. He's...gotten himself in a little trouble." The woman said. Bob looked at Elizabeth, who nodded. The two of them stood up and made their way out of the bar, and around the corner to an alley, where they saw Bill, and why he had sent someone in for them.
He was standing there as naked as the day he was born, using his hands to cover his personal parts.
"I swear to god, if you say anything, I'm going to kill you." Bill said. Bob and Elizabeth looked at each other, and burst out laughing, finding it difficult to stay standing as they laughed. Bill watched them for the better part of a minute before coughing. "If you're quite done?" He asked, annoyed.
"Yeah, yeah, let's get you back to the ship. Idiot." Bob said, as he and Elizabeth walked over to him. "I hope the transporter operator has a strong stomach."
"So do I." Elizabeth said.
"This is Elizabeth, she's been on the ship for a couple of months. Thought she could use a friend." Bob said.
"Great. Nice to meet you. I'd shake hands, but I'm a bit...engaged otherwise." Bill said. Bob smirked.
"Scott to Triumphant. Three to beam up." He said, knowing that this was definitely going to be a shore leave to remember.
