:: Whistling sounds of the song 'Whistle while you work' from Disney's Snow White could be heard echoing down the corridor. ::

A young Lieutenant of about 14 stone weight and under 2 meters could be seen walking with a spring in his step. Black hair cut to regulation and blue eyes full of excitement he had a smile that could be described as 'Winning' as he merrily marched down the way to the Quarter Master's office.

When he got there, he went to chime the door but it had opened freely as he approached.

A young female Bolian Ensign stood behind a terminal entering information and looked up at the human male walked in. "How can I help you today, Lieutenant?" she asked as she noted the pips on his collar. She also started a diagnostic to determine why the door opened on its own since the man's uniform indicated he was either part of Command or Flight and the door shouldn't have opened automatically for him.

Zeke was caught off guard as he remained poised through the doorway at the panel, "Uhh..." was all he could manage to utter for a moment before righting himself and stepping in, "Sorry, the door was open." he half-joked, "I'm here for my snazzy new uniform," he said pinching and pulling the chest the Starfleet standard he was in.

"Snazzy...new uniform," the Ensign repeated before she stepped out from behind the terminal. "What's your name, Lieutenant?" she asked. "I'm Ensign Mol."

Zeke offered a handshake, "Pleased to meet you Ensign, "I'm Zeke uhh.. Ezekiel Stone. I believe had an appointment for 0800?" he asked.

Mol dutifully shook hands with the Ensign even if it seemed odd to her and checked the console. "Let me see. Zekeuh Ezekiel Stone. I'm not seeing that. Or did you mean Lieutenant Ezekiel Stone?"

Zeke's face blushed a bit, "Yes ma'am, that's me." he winced at his faux pas, "I mean, Yes Ensign," he said as his inner dialogue scolded him for every time he's called anyone ma'am for the past two decades. He wasn't required to anymore and now it was even inappropriate at times, "So Ensign" he tried to carry on quickly and put those thoughts away, "What's next?"

"Mol will suffice if you prefer," the young Ops officer said as she pulled his file up and scanned it. "Next, take off your uniform. Er. No, that's not right. Sorry, sorry, Lieutenant. I mean, you'll have to at one time, but not in front of me." She activated another holographic console as she turned a darker shade of blue and indicated a space on the floor that had a light blue circle. "Step in that circle, please."

Both of Zeke's eyebrows raised up high. He was about to say something but her quick recovery saved him from responding. He nodded sharply and gave her a reassuring smile, or what he hoped was a reassuring smile as it could have also been awkward since that's how he was feeling. He complied with her direction and moved into the circle.

Mol activated the scanner and the blue circle on the floor rose slowly up his body until it reached the top of his head, then went back to the floor again. "Okay, that was just the scan. Now I'm going to have the computer replicate this for you. If you'll just follow me?"

She turned and headed for a door near her terminal and went through it. In the room behind it was a partitioned area with a privacy screen, an industrial replicator, and several more terminals. She went to one of them and activated, then waited for the Lieutenant.

Zeke stood confused for a moment, she hadn't said anything about a next room before. He thought for a moment and figured she hadn't mentioned it do to her earlier embarrassment and reasoned he could save her from further embarrassment by advancing to the next step. So he took off his uniform down to his under garment and followed after.

The Ensign screamed when he came in wearing just his undergarment and quickly turned her head. "Whyareyounotdressed?!" came out of her mouth in one word. "Your uniform has to be replicated!"

Zeke cringed noticeably at the scream and hoped Security wasn't on the way. He knew he screwed up but he stood tall, a lifetime of not being in control of his privacy made him no stranger to mistakes like this, "I-I'm sorry Ensign, shall I go and get my old uniform or shall we proceed on?" he hoped his offer of a choice might make her feel better.

"Um, um, uh," the young woman stammered before she pointed to the partitioned privacy screen. "You can step behind that while I replicate your uniform," she managed in nearly a squeak of a voice.

Complying with her direction, Zeke walked over behind the privacy panel. He was glad he had the forethought not to completely disrobe before following her earlier but now behind the screen it might be different, "I don't need to completely undress now?" he asked from behind the panel.

"No, no you don't," Mol told him quickly as she worked the controls on the industrial replicator. A humming sound was heard, followed by a sigh of relief. A minute later, her slim blue hand edged around the privacy screen with a neatly folded uniform in the red of his department. "You'll have to get your pips and combadge off your other uniform," she said. "After you get dressed."

Zeke took the Uniform and proceeded to dress quickly, he stepped out from behind the privacy screen dressed as Triumphant's finest. He put on his boots and rolled a hand across the torso to smooth any wrinkles he then turned to the Bolian girl, "So, how does it look?" he asked his face a beam of pride.

When he came out from behind the privacy screen, Ensign Mol held a Type II phaser in her hand and had it pointed his way. "It looks great. Now to test it," she said.

Zeke's eyes widened in surprise and he put a hand up to her in a defensive pose, "Now wait a minute Ensign. I think shooting a superior officer is-is against a rule somewhere or in the least frowned upon, by me e-especially" he stammered the idea of being shot today being the least appealing.

"Oh, don't worry," the Bolian said. "Now put your hand down as it isn't covered by your uniform and I wouldn't want to accidentally stun you."

The Lieutenant complied, reluctantly. Standing tall, bracing for the impact, "If anything goes wrong, please remember to feed my pet rock at least once a fortnight and walk him twice a month." he said as he closed his eyes.

Mol laughed as she checked the setting on the phaser, then fired point blank at his chest. The beam hit, then dispersed through the graphene bonded to the synthetic Darwin's Bark Spider silk before being absorbed into the micro supercapacitors built into the suit without so much as a twinge being passed on to him. "There," she said. "Was that so bad?"

Zeke felt his chest with his eyes closed, and smiled happily when he felt no big gaping hole there, "Whoa," he said looking down while frantically patting his chest, "Neat, I didn't even feel it!" he said excitedly.

"That's right," Ensign Mol said as she put the phaser back on safety and picked up a PADD to hand to him. "This has all the settings on it which it can take before it's destroyed. I wouldn't make a point of shooting yourself to test it, or deliberately standing in the way of phaser fire. Setting sixteen will instantly destroy it and you'll be naked. The other settings can be absorbed to varying degrees."

Taking the PADD and thumbing through it, the new armour like uniform heavily intrigued the senior pilot, "So are these capacitors rechargeable, I see it can take a shot from setting one up to one hundred times. Is that for its entire lifespan or do they regain their ability after a while?" he queried her.

"As long as the energy stored in the supercapacitors is discharged safely," she replied. "I'd suggest that you bring it in after every time you get hit by a phaser so we can do that."

Zeke nodded, "Okay, so now what? You planning to shoot me with something bigger or test a disruptor pistol or a magna-hammer?" he half joked in case those were real possibilities.

"At the end of every shift, use the PADD I gave you to lay on top of the uniform and activate the Discharge function if you've been shot with an energy weapon that day. It'll give us notice to have it collected and give you a replacement," Mol told him.

"Understood," he said as he held the PADD close to his chest feigning its importance to him, "I'll take it with me everywhere and if someday I'm off ship and the suit is damaged, I'll put the PADD on my uniform and I'll expect you guys to come and get it." he spoke each word with a firm reverence as if giving a sermon.

Now the Bolian Operations officer just looked at him as if he had turned into a Denebian Slime Devil and propositioned her. "I have some regular uniforms in your size if you'd prefer those instead, Lieutenant," she said.

Zeke shook his head slowly, "No, I'll take this model thanks." the junior officer's response amused him so he thought he'd razz her, "Have you had your fill of shooting at senior officers or should I stick around a bit longer?"

"I never get my fill of shooting senior officers," Lieutenant," the Ensign said happily as she reached for the phaser again. "Do you ever get tired of being shot at?"

The Lieutenant backed away, "I think, I have some duties to attend to." he sidelined and headed toward the exit, but before leaving he couldn't help but get one more razz in, "I'll expect you to come by my quarters later and pick this up for the shot you already gave me." he said behind him.

Mol laughed at his retreat. "Be sure to activate the Discharge function on the PADD," she called after him. "If you don't, I may have to shoot you again."

Zeke laughed loudly and exited out of the room.
