Collaborating

Mission: Falling Star
Location: Various
Timeline: MD34 || 12:00

Martha and Robert had made some good progress with their analysis and discovered a couple of gaps in the formation they could exploit for next time. Robert didn't feel the mercenaries had as much tactical nous to try anything different and it was highly likely they would employ the same tactics again.

With information about the Breen cruiser and Centaur-class starship on a PADD in her hand she proceeded down to the CAG office in the hope Ensign Hunter would be there to share the information with. It would be just as useful to him as Martha if she had to direct the Triumphant's heavier ordnance at other targets.

Martha reached the office and pressed the chime.

T'Sala and Logan were both in the CAG's office when Martha rang the chime. T'Sala looked at the door with just the slightest of one eyebrow being raised. She was not aware of any appointments, but decided to find out who needed to speak with her and what it was they wanted. "Enter."

Martha entered the office and stood in the middle of the room. Gesturing with her PADD she then spoke.

"I have some information that I believe will be of use to both of us. Do you have time to discuss it?" Martha said.

T'Sala regarded Martha and the PADD briefly before nodding her head. She turned to Logan. "Please wait outside Mr. Hunter."

Martha raised her PADD and started to read from it.

"From my investigations I have discovered weaknesses in the two main attack units used by the mercenaries. On the Breen cruiser there is a weakness in the shielding around the impulse manifold. The Centaur-class is interesting - I have run simulations and I believe a direct hit to this power junction with a pair of micro torpedoes can knock out its tactical systems" Martha said.

Martha then showed T'Sala the junction she was referring to on the PADD screen.

T'Sala studied the display for several moments. Martha had certainly performed a rather astute tactical assessment of the mercenary capital ships and their vulnerabilities. She pressed several buttons at her work station to link the PADD's open file. A moment later a holographic display appeared above her desk. Another minute of silent study had her intrigued. "Would you mind if I recalled Ensign Hunter back in? He has proven highly adept at starfighter tactics."

Once T'Sala finished reading the display Martha turned the screen off and withdrew the PADD to her left hand side.

"Please do - I would value his input" Martha said.

T'Sala summoned Logan back into the office and brought up a copy of the file she'd downloaded to her work station. She had a few comments she wished to make but wanted input from another pilot to see if they saw what she saw. "Mr. Hunter. I would like you to review this tactical analysis and give your opinion on the feasibility of launching a strike fighter attack."

Logan nodded as he stepped up next to T'Sala to review the tactical assessment. He read the file as he stroked his chin in thought. He looked up from the screen first to T'Sala then glanced briefly at Martha. "The Breen ship wouldn't be much of a problem exploiting their weakness, but the Centaur would be a significantly harder nut to crack."

Martha nodded. "If you need any more information about the two starship types I can pass it on. Might I suggest a combined sensor sweep and fighter recon of the star system to see if we can find out any more information that may be useful?"

T'Sala nodded in agreement. She had been thinking the same thing. "I will brief the pilot contingent to focus their search areas in sensor blind spots." She turned her gaze to Logan. Though not acquainted with emotions herself she could tell when humans were worried due to facial expressions.

Logan kept eyeing the display screen pensively. His face betraying concern.

"I've come up with a sensor sweep pattern and schedule...which should be on this PADD..." Martha replied.

The Tactical Officer took a few moments to look for said plan on her PADD before finding it. She then offered the PADD to the Vulcan.

Martha concluded. "Here it is. I thought it may be useful for you in order to work out your patrol routes more quickly. If there's nothing else I'll go and set up my scanning pattern and get back to you once it's ready"

With a nod to the two fighter pilots Martha turned on her heel and left the room.
