Date Interrupted

Mission: Falling Star
Location: Kelani's Quarters
Timeline: TBD (just before the next senior staff meeting)

Logan paused outside Kelani's quarters and ran a hand through his hair. He looked down at the potted plant in his other hand, a small flowering plants from Kelani's home world. He knew it to be one of her favorites from their walk around the arboretum after the picnic the other day. He reached out to depress the door chime to announce his arrival for their date.

Kelani turned as the door chime sounded. She smiled. Logan was always punctual—unlike other males she had dated in the past.

“Come in,”. She called, giving a last brush to her hair.

Logan entered Kelani's quarters and took a look about. He noted the tasteful decor as he waited for Kelani to come out into the living room.

Kelani entered the living room, a bright smile on her face--Logan affected her that way. ~Strong, caring, and shy,~ she thought. ~I am indeed lucky!~

Aloud she said, "Hello Logan. Welcome to my home...."

Logan glanced at Kelani as she stepped from her bedroom out into the common area. He almost forgot how to breath. ~She appears more breathtakingly beautiful every time I see her~, he thought to himself. He finally found the ability to speak as he held up the plant. "Um, this is for you. I saw how much you admired it in the arboretum the other day so...."

Kelani's cheeks went pink as she became aware of Logan's thought. It took her a moment to realize that Logan had a gift for her--the plant she had so admired...

"It's beautiful!" She exclaimed, her delight evident. She looked around for a moment, then asked, "Could you put it over there?" And she indicated a small table near her small sofa.

Logan gave a nod and went to the table. He placed the flowering plant down.

Kelani moved closer as Logan turned to place the plant where she had asked him to, smiling softly.

Logan turned back to Kelani, slightly surprised at her close proximity. He started to speak. "I...." What happened next took the words right out of his mouth.

Kelani cupped Logan's face in her hands, leaning in and giving him a soft lingering kiss.

~I have wanted this since our first meeting,~ she thought. ~It is as it should be.~

The kiss lasted a good five count before ending. His whole being tingled. He gazed in to her eyes for a few moments before finding his voice again. "I have wanted to do that since our first 'date' in the holodeck."

"As have I, Logan," She murmured against his lips, her arms sliding around him.

He wrapped her in his arms. "So what would you say to a second kiss?" He didn't wait for an answer, just planted his lips to hers. The tingly feeling returned, even more intense than before. He felt a warm desire for her increase with each passing moment.

Kelani's arms tightened around Logan, the fingers of one hand twining in his hair. Her pulse raced as the kiss continued--willing it to last...

Kelani jumped as the page came through. She reluctantly stepped away from Logan, saying ruefully, "Duty calls, it seems."

Logan sighed and cocked his head towards the ceiling. He finally looked back at Kelani. "Yes it does I suppose. I best get down to the flight deck in case someone in your meeting decides to send out a recon patrol.

"We will continue this, yes?" She asked.

"Yes! Yes we will!" He punctuated his statement with yet another kiss. Though quick, it held enough passion to promise much more to follow.

Kelani giggled at Logan's reaction, even as she returned his kiss.

"We have something to look forward to,". She said, even as she reluctantly released him so that she could prepare for the meeting.

Logan allowed his hand to slowly slide down her arm until only their finger tips touched. He gave a long sigh as they finally broke physical contact. "See you later milady." He knew that causing any further delay could land one, the other or perhaps even both of them in trouble. He stepped out to the corridor and leaned against the bulkhead wall for a moment, his thoughts still on the shared kisses. "WOW!!!"

Kelani watched as Logan left, her lips still tingling from the last kiss. She smiled.

"Amazing," she murmured as quickly changed into her uniform and left, hoping not to be late.
