Reset

Mission: Strange Matter
Location: Captain's Ready Room

Finally, the Ready Room had been cleared. The spacious room, finally cleared of the oxygen thieves, was able to enjoy a few moments of peace and quiet.

This was the time that the bonsai trees did their work, sucking in the remaining carbon dioxide, removing the terrible elements and returning fresh clean oxygen for the Commodore to consume. With mysteries aplenty and a terrible virus on the hunt, the master of Triumphant needed every brain booster he could get.

It was this time that the trees themselves started to stretch beyond their pruning, to regrow what was prematurely removed.

One tree in particular, the one closest to the Commodore's desk, had a little extra help. In an instant, it was surrounded by blue shimmering light. Rather than totally dissolve, a subroutine remixed the tree based upon a pattern on file, rearranging the molecules and atoms.

Finally, the tree was reassembled. Its branches were left untidied, ready for the next pruning.

Meanwhile, the subroutine went to work, scrubbing the logs to make sure no evidence was left behind. At the end of its cycle, notifications were sent to the Executive and Chief Operations Officers. The prank was now in full swing.

The subroutine was reset and returned to dormant status, just waiting for the next opportunity to reset the bonsai tree once more.
