"So where are we?" Jessica asked her friend, looking around the corridors. "I don't recognize any of this."
"Neither do I, but we need to keep going. We'll find some help soon." Jim replied, as he walked next to Jessica. The entire place was filled with fog, and it was cold. Somehow, they had entered a corridor that had seemed to be out of place of the building they were in, but all they cared about was getting home.
As they reached the end of the corridor, they came across a junction, both of which were dark. "Jim, I don't like this." Jessica said, her voice barely above a whisper. Jim smiled, took her hand and walked down the corridor to the right with her.
"Don't worry Jessie, I'm with you, and I'll protect you." Jim said. Jessie smiled, and kissed his cheek.
"You promise?" She asked. Jim nodded.
"Of course. I've never let you down, have I?" He asked.
"No, of course not." Jessie replied.
"So, let's keep going." Jim said. They came across a large set of doors which seemed to open automatically, leading into a small forest.
"I thought we were on the third floor?" Jessie asked.
"So did I." Jim replied, as he stepped into the forest. He walked over to a fence, and then turned to face Jessie. "It looks..."
What he was about to say, Jessie didn't know. What she did know was that there was now a long, metal blade sticking out of Jim's face, his eyes split, with one eyeball now on the tip of the blade. Jim had a look of shock on his face, but he was already dead. Blood was pouring freely down his body as a tall man stood over him. Jessie screamed as she saw Jim's body fall to the floor. The man then stood on the back of Jim's head, and Jessie's scream grew louder as she heard the crunch of bone against the floor. The tall man looked at her, and moved towards her quickly. She turned and ran as quickly as she could. She could still see Jim's mangled face with the blade, and knew she had to run.
But could she escape? Her heart was racing as she kept running, turning a corner...and finding her face in the hands of the tall man. She screamed as she was lifted from the ground, trying to kick the man and escape. Her last scream came as the man tightened his grip and crushed her face. Jessica gasped for breath just before she died, her blood now all over the corridors of the Triumphant, and the man standing over her as he smashed her face into the wall, her's and Jim's blood all over his hands.
Funny. He didn't seem to notice. Or care.....
