Heightened States

Mission: Avatar
Location: Security Office
Timeline: MD 9 || 1500 Hours

With the computer becoming more unreliable by the second, Douglas saw no reason to remain behind a functionally useless console on the bridge; he needed to be where he could coordinate with his people most effectively and efficiently. HE had returned to his office for the moment, therefore.

Per the captain's orders, the first thing he did was to increase the number of Security personnel around and in sensitive areas such as the computer core, the backup computer core, engineering, and the bridge. Each team had been provided with the special secured comms and transporter bands. Now he needed to coordinate with the marine CO on patrols.

He activated the secured comm. =/\= Mallory to S'er'in'e. Do you have a moment to discuss patrol teams? =/\=

S'er'in'e replied that he had time to meet and made his way to Security. Coordinating would make securing the ship and the people on it easier.

When the marine CO arrived, Douglas motioned to the table where he had his coffee maker and tea service, neither of which ever came from the replicator -- today he was exceedingly glad that he was that bit of eccentric. "There is coffee or tea if you want it while we speak." he offered, then motioning to the chair to indicate the offer of a seat. "I hope that you don't mind if I get right to the matter though, in either case."

S'er'in'e declined the offer of a beverage and stood at the table to view it, such tiny chairs sometimes uncomfortable and with the situation at hand, small aches and pains were undesirable. "By all means." The towering Caitian spoke inviting the man to resume.

Douglas joined the big Caitian at the StratTac table. "As you can see, I've laid out a tentative arrangement for teams to patrol the ship. I would like to make these teams hybrid teams of equal parts security and marine personnel if you are amenable to it. Also, if you see a better way to array the teams, please don't hesitate to point it out."

"If we divide the ship we can patrol the ship and handle any injuries that may have taken place. We are are on Deck 19, my department is on deck 43. If Security handles decks 1 through 24 and marines 25 through 48. We can cover the ship quicker, which if there are injuries on board the reduced time will make a difference." While the idea the Lieutenant had held merit, merging teams took time and that was currently a luxury none could afford right now.

Douglas frowned in thought. The marine was right, he reflected. Why had he not seen it? Mentally sighing at himself -- he was better trained than that -- he drew his trained neutrality around him and focused on the table. "That is an excellent point. And it eliminates the time needed to blend the teams." He realigned the table to show the plan S'er'in'e had just detailed. "This plan also allows for both groups to have their command centers centralized. You and I will need to coordinate periodically, though to keep both command centers in the loop."

"Then we should act quickly." S'er'in'e answered seeing as a plan had been formulated all they had to do now was action it.

"Agreed." Douglas said, both men then returning to their respective duties.
