| Personal History | The oldest child of Kip and Chimaka White Hawk, Nawaji was the only one of their three children born with a Betazoid paracortex, though the lobe is vestigal in nature and appearance. Though Nawaji possesses no telepathic or empathetic abilities, her atrophied paracortex does convey on her a 'null' status, making her immune to telepaths and empaths. Born in the small town of Rosebud, South Dakota, Nawaji's parents were biologists involved in the Great Plains Restoration of North America and thus Nawaji spent a good deal of her childhood from the Coteau du Missouri to the Pecos Valley and everywhere in between. By age six Nawaji was beginning to exhibit her mathematical genius. At age fifteen, Nawaji had entered Black Hills State University, and by age twenty-two, she had earned a Doctorate in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cambridge (and spending her summers working with her parents, particularly in developing of computer modeling for species being reintroduced into the wild. A chance meeting with a Starfleet officer on detached duty to Cambridge changed the direction of Nawaji's life from the one where she planned to spend with her parents and family to one where she would discover all the wonders that came with serving in Starfleet. |
