| General Overview | Lukiz is logical and has an analytical personality meant which means sometimes he can be too literal in some cases; he can not alwaystell good jokes because he islousy at using metaphors. However he cares deeply for his mother and father along with his two best friends. He has a strong sense of right and wrong and is always open to new ideas. Because of his eidetic memory and quick learning abilities, Lukiz is able to see solutions quicker than others. He is also able to pre-empt and be ready with ideas to situations that he cane predict will occurr. However due to his lack of social development as a teenager, Lukiz finds it hard to open up to others. However when he does he cares deeply for those in his life. Lukiz isn't career driven, instead the pursuit of understanding and enhancing his skills is what drives him. He enjoys puzzles and situations that challenge him to think in different ways. He has mentioned before he would like to be a starship captain one day though. Lukiz doesn't mind socialising but prefers the more intimate situations compared to large social gatherings. He has acquired a number of interests and hobbies since joining the crew of the Nogura and Scorpio, including fencing and raquetball. |

| Strengths & Weaknesses | A brilliant engineer with an almost-eidetic memory, Lukiz is able take in an immense amount of knowledge in one go and is able to sift through the information his brain stores at rapid speeds. He has made it his life's work to commit many a modification and schematic to memory and is renowned for his ability to counter almost any engineering hiccup. He is a strong-willed man, both a strength and weakness at different times. When making decisions, it is hard to convince him that he is wrong and he is known to stand firm on most things, especially those of a serious nature. His knowledge and expertise comes at a high price, a lack of diplomacy skills having hindered him on many occasions and thought to be the reason why he has never pushed to move beyond his role as an Engineer. His love for Starship operations leaves little to no room for the science, the arts or even for friends. |

| Ambitions | On a personal level, Lukiz is quite content with his role in life and currently harbors no ambition other than to see where life takes him. Professionally, and in the grander scheme of things, he simply aspires to help the Federation explore the galaxy and does his bit by keeping his ship functioning. | |
| Hobbies & Interests | Like most of his family, Lukiz likes to eat and has developed something of a love for Romulan cuisine. Osol twists and jumbo Romulan mollusks are his particular favorites, but more commonly he eats Viinerine. His beverage of choice is the aromatic Kali-fal. Because he likes to eat, he can often be found exercising and keeping fit in order to stay in shape. |
| Personal History | Lukiz was born on the Trill homeworld to investigative reporter Sezrah Jain Smyth and noted archaeologist Doctor Juahn Smyth. Lukiz spent most of his childhood with his mother as his father was constantly travelling around the Federation on various expeditions. He had a very lonely childhood and kept to himself, focussing on his studies. When he was in secondary school Lukiz was bullied for being a near genius at his school. A lot of the time it was based on his naïve response to social situations that caused him to be picked on. However when he finally graduated school he quickly applied to join Starfleet. His mother wasn't too keen on him going off to join Starfleet. She felt that Starfleet had become too militarised after the Dominion War. Nevertheless she supported her son in his decision and helped him prepare to leave home. Lukiz was quickly accepted in to the Academy and was excelled in all of his classes. The Academy environment would help shape the young man in becoming the officer he would eventually become. Many of his Academy lecturers believed that Lukiz would follow in his father's footsteps in to the science division, however he surprised them all when he picked to major in classes based within the engineering division. Lukiz was completely fascinated by starship operations. Lukiz became good friends with his Academy roommate, a young man named Cline Lenjir. The two shared their bridge operations courses, where they met fellow cadet T'Rani. Lukiz quickly made a close friendship with Cline who was more socially adept and with Lenjir's raucous teasing of the Vulcan, his amiable sense of humour an inevitable clash with her cold logic, the three became close, a well-balanced trio, and as a strong team they caught the attention of their instructor, Commander Cambil. The three of them graduated together, and at the same time as Cambil left the Academy; impressed with their success, and wishing to encourage their potential, Commander Cambil arranged for them to join her on her new posting. At his graduation Lukiz was surprised at the appearance of his father in the crowd. A man he hadn't seen in years. His father gave him a simple nod, smile with a wave before leaving to return to his life-long work. Lukiz stood by his mother as she sobbed in to his arms, wondering if she would ever see her husband again. This posting was the Luna-class USS Triton, a particularly impressive coup of an assignment for ensigns fresh from the Academy. Now out on assignment at last, Lukiz continues to develop his understanding of all the sciences and his social skills. While on the Triton he began his first romantic relationship with the captain's yeoman: Tobias Court. The two have taken their relationship very seriously and have moved in to shared quarters. Lukiz spent a number of years aboard the USS Nogura in mid-2387-88 in a variety of positions until he jumped at the chance to transfer to the USS Scorpio as Chief Engineer with a promotion to Lieutenant JG. Lukiz remained with the Scorpio for the duration of its four-year mission of exploration in the Gamma Quadrant before transferring to the newly commissioned USS Triumphant in 2392 as Chief Engineer. |
