Beginning in their early childhood, Lagashi children are implanted with micro-processor systems that host the seed of a full Artificial Intelligence; as they age and grow, the computer hardware installed is progressively upgraded to accommodate the increasingly sophisticated AI which, in molding itself around the personality of the user through their neural uplink, becomes as much a part of their cognitive function as either side of their organic brain. By the time they reach young adulthood, a Lagashi will have much of her lower brain-pan (a space normally empty in human physiology) and the area between the two lobes of the brain occupied by hyper-miniaturized computer hardware that supports advanced computational functions and cognitive aids chosen by a combination of the individual and her family. These can include anything from research databases or wireless neural uplinks to external systems to advanced tactical programs and predictive response software based on the AI work done. History Born on Autumn was implanted with micro-processor systems that host the seed of a full Artificial Intelligence in her brain, as all Lagashi had done. She was taught the history of her people as all Lagashi were and was given a tactical program for a variety of species ranging from Breen, Romulans, Klingons, Kinshaya to Tholians. Although she has never been in a war, Autumn enlisted in the Lagashi military for a mandatory two year term which was mainly sitting in ships and watching sensors and nothing eventful. While she served, she had other enhancements added, such as her Occular Implants which allowed her to see in every spectrum of light. Her muscles were replaced with Synthetic-Fiber Muscle Bundles in her legs, arms and torso to enhance strength by twice human, endurance and reaction time twice as fast as humans. After she left the military, she set her eyes on the stars and even though she was twenty-two years old, she left Lagash Prime and went to join Starfleet. There, many of her more advanced AI capabilities and certain programs were restricted via an oath taken by Autumn to use only her natural intelligence to pass the exams. She also consented to allow a Betazoid in her mind while testing and period checkups while she was in the Academy. It was very difficult at first to resist using the AI built into her brain to instantly figure out problems, but after being caught once on a major exam, she was given the choice of being expelled from the Academy or have a private Betazoid tutor with her in every class to assist her in not using her modifications. She knuckled down and chose to study Operations with a minor in Engineering and while she wasn't at the top of her class upon graduation four years later, she was still proud to hold her head up high knowing that she and not her implants, had gotten her through the Academy. |

On her senior cadet tour, she had seen battle very few times and most of it was spent running diagnostics, checking glitches and making minor enhancements as required by the Captain and Chief Engineer in software programs once she was allowed to use her AI implants and programs once more. At the end of her tour, she was promoted to Ensign upon her graduation and her first assignment has left her stunned. The USS Triumphant, an Odyssey Class starship commanded by a Commodore who had taken it into the divided Romulan territory and emerged, had stopped a deadly plague, and negotiated peace by revealing treachery on a Romulan held world. There were many stories circulated by cadets about the Triumphant, some which included telekinetic beings that had murdered over two hundred personnel and then became an honorary Ensign after her punishment. She made a note to avoid such a being if possible.
